Greyhound Racing Ireland (GRI) is seeking a Control Steward to oversee race meetings and trials, ensure compliance with racing regulations, and maintain the highest welfare standards for greyhounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and enforce racing regulations at licensed stadia.
- Ensure greyhound welfare during races and trials.
- Monitor track conditions and officiate race meetings.
- Conduct steward inquiries and report on race/trial sessions.
- Collect samples for prohibited substance testing.
- Assist with greyhound traceability and microchip scanning.
- Professionally liaise with owners, trainers, and industry stakeholders.
- Support greyhound rehoming initiatives and welfare inspections.
What You Need:
- Full clean driving licence (essential).
- Knowledge of Greyhound Racing Regulations & Welfare Legislation.
- Experience in regulatory compliance or statutory standards.
- Strong decision-making, conflict management, and communication skills.
- IT proficiency (Microsoft Office, email systems).
- Third-level qualification in a relevant field is an advantage.
