Warehouse Operative Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Storing Goods: You'll likely be responsible for unloading deliveries, checking them against manifests or orders, and storing them appropriately in the warehouse.
- Picking and Packing Orders: This involves retrieving items from the warehouse shelves according to picking lists or orders, and packing them securely for delivery.
- Inventory Management: Keeping track of inventory levels, conducting stock checks, and ensuring accuracy in inventory records.
- Maintaining a Safe Workspace: Following health and safety guidelines, keeping the warehouse clean and organized, and reporting any hazards or issues.
Delivery Driver Responsibilities:
- Loading and Unloading: Loading goods onto the delivery vehicle safely and securing them for transportation. Upon arrival, unloading goods at the destination.
- Driving and Navigation: Safely operating a delivery vehicle, following traffic laws, and using navigation tools to reach destinations efficiently.
- Customer Service: Interacting with customers during deliveries, providing excellent service, and potentially collecting payments or obtaining signatures for delivered items.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting routine checks on the delivery vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues, and ensuring it remains in good working condition.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Driving License: A valid driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle you'll be operating.
- Physical Fitness: The role can involve lifting and carrying heavy items, so good physical fitness is often required.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy in both warehouse operations and delivery schedules.
- Communication Skills: Clear communication is essential for coordinating with colleagues in the warehouse and interacting with customers during deliveries.
