Our Tullamore plant which is ISO certified to 13485 and operates in a certified class 8 cleanroom, has a vacancy for a Design Engineer.
The Design Engineer will be part of the Engineering group and will be required to support the Engineering team with development projects. The role will include the design and development of processes, tooling and equipment for the development and manufacture of new products. The role also involves working closely with cross functional teams and support functions to provide excellent standards of system performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Support and/or lead Design projects
- Design tooling and fixturing
- Build fixturing/tooling to support projects
- Assist team to design and develop product/ processes
- Assist team with device prototyping and testing
- Assist with process development and validation
- Protocol generation and execution.
- Prototyping of products.
- Assist in ensuring a smooth transition of newly developed products and process from Engineering to production.
- To deal/liaise with vendors and suppliers where required.
- To maintain appropriate recording and reporting systems.
- Support other functions with design projects as required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with agreed customer requirements.
- Carry out all projects and activities as required by the organisation.
- To maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping to ensure area, machines and equipment are maintained in a safe and clean condition.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with all SPG and Dupont safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for recognizing and reporting safety hazards and early reporting of work-related pain/injury.
- Any other duties that may arise because of business requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 3-7 years industry experience
- Excellent Computer Skills.
- Solid works experience essential
- Highly motivated and the ability to work within a team based environment, flexible and willing to learn.
- Project Management and design experience
- Mechanical skillset and experience of same
- Clinical experience an advantage
- Ability to apply a scientific approach to problem solving, blending analytical and experimental skills to maximize productivity and yields.
- Familiarity with lean, six sigma and validation would be beneficial.
- Excellent Communication and report writing skills.
