Anglo Printers is seeking candidates for the position of Despatch Manager at our Drogheda site, just 30 mins drive from Dublin Airport.

Despatch Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that printed materials are delivered accurately, on time, and in excellent condition. Below is a comprehensive outline of the key tasks and responsibilities for this role:
Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Planning and Coordination
- Organise daily despatch schedules in line with production outputs and customer deadlines.
- Coordinate with production, finishing, and warehousing teams to ensure seamless flow from print to despatch.
- Plan and allocate resources (vehicles, drivers, packaging) for timely and cost-effective deliveries.
2. Order Fulfilment and Shipping
- Ensure all customer orders are packed, labelled, and shipped correctly and securely.
- Oversee the preparation of delivery documentation (e.g. delivery dockets, manifests, consignment notes).
- Liaise with couriers, logistics partners, and hauliers to arrange national and international shipments.
3. Quality and Accuracy
- Conduct final checks on printed goods before despatch for quality, accuracy, and compliance with customer requirements.
- Implement procedures to minimise errors, such as mislabelling or missing items.
4. Inventory and Materials Management
- Manage stock of packaging materials, pallets, and shipping supplies.
- Work with inventory systems to ensure accurate stock movement recording related to despatch activities.
5. Health & Safety and Compliance
- Ensure despatch operations are conducted in compliance with Health & Safety regulations (e.g. manual handling, fire safety).
- Maintain clean, safe, and efficient despatch areas in line with Irish and EU regulations.
6. Team Leadership and Supervision
- Lead and supervise despatch staff including loaders, forklift operators, and drivers.
- Provide training, performance monitoring, and development opportunities.
- Create and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for despatch processes.
7. Customer Service and Communication
- Act as a point of contact for customer delivery queries and complaints.
- Communicate effectively with sales and customer service teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Track shipments and provide updates or solutions for delayed or failed deliveries.
8. Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Prepare and analyse daily/weekly despatch reports on KPIs such as delivery times, errors, and returns.
- Use data insights to drive process improvements, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
- Participate in lean initiatives or continuous improvement programs (e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen).
