One of the key functions in Galway is Global Business Services, which provides number of shared services activities across finance, purchasing, quality, technical and customer services for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Various global and EMEA commercial and operational management teams across our infectious disease and cardiometabolic businesses are also based in Galway, overseeing the supply of millions of rapid tests from HIV to diabetes to COVID-19, to patients in many regions across the world.
Position Summary: This position provides an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to work across all business functions with accountability for managing ARDx’s Inventory Control and Distribution Operations for Europe. The successful candidate will ensure product availability, compliance, supply chain cost effectiveness and efficient execution of logistics activities. As part of ARDX’s global supply chain network, this position is expected to develop partnerships and foster cross functional collaboration between site leadership teams, global support functions such as Purchasing, Quality, Customer Service, regional logistics and commercial organization(s). The role is responsible for managing, coaching, and developing a team-based culture, driving change and improvement initiatives, establishing, communicating, and implementing short, medium to long terms plans to ensure that ARDX’s targets described within the key performance indicators and "Best in Class" performance levels are achieved in all areas. As such, the job holder is expected to possess a thorough technical background in Supply Chain and Logistics principles and demonstrate the ability to lead cross-functional teams through improvement activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the Inventory Control Team: Oversee and support the team in compliance with established business policies and procedures.
Quality Processes: Demonstrate commitment to the development, implementation, and effectiveness of applicable Quality Processes as per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
Professional Behavior: Exhibit professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain personnel, Purchasing, Transport, Customer Service, Quality, Warehouse, and Inventory to support Supply Chain activities.
Project Management: Support the management of projects, whether large or small, complex or straightforward, to deliver success within stipulated timeframes.
Data Analysis: Analyze data and provide insights to drive cost improvements, strengthen compliance, increase efficiency of existing processes, and achieve positive outcomes.
Supplier and Process Improvements: Drive supplier and process improvements through the Agile quality system in the form of quality incidents and supplier corrective actions.
Customer Service Support: Support Customer Service to deliver an excellent customer experience.
Product Availability: Ensure product availability and supply continuity to meet customer needs while optimizing target stock and scrap levels.
Team Development: Build and develop the Central Warehouse team with a view to developing staff as part of succession planning.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards to ISO 13485 and ISO9001.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report performance/trending levels, meeting and exceeding targets.
Budget Management: Establish and manage the Europe Warehouse Operations budget, providing explanations to management when variances occur.
Distribution Operations: Oversee Distribution Operations activities (Pick, Pack, Ship, Moves, Count, etc.) at our 3rd Party provider to meet KPI targets and improve efficiencies.
Training and Education: Maintain training and education in relation to SAP ERP and inventory processes to ensure high-level job accomplishment.
Project Support: Provide project-related support where required.
Dimensions – Education / Experience / Skills:
Education: Third Level Degree or equivalent in Logistics Supply Chain or similar preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain, specifically warehousing and managing 3PL relationships.
Certifications: Qualified (or working towards) APICs / CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) level.
Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and SAP/ERP system knowledge and experience.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills (written & verbal across cultures).
Analytical Skills: Highly numerate with an aptitude for analysis.
People Management: Strong people management skills and ability to lead meetings (by phone, video conference, and face-to-face) to drive results and build relationships.
Travel: 10% Travel as required (advance notice to be provided).
