To oversee and continuously improve the customer experience within the Visitor Centre and its key components, including the café, attractions, shop, and advance bookings. The Duty Operations Manager will work closely with the General Manager and relevant teams to drive operational excellence, lead recruitment efforts, and deliver a seamless, high-quality guest service journey. This role also supports compliance with Health and Safety procedures in coordination with the Health and Safety Officer and contributes to the implementation of strategies to optimise revenue and visitor satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage the daily operations of the Café, attractions, shop sales, and advance bookings, ensuring a smooth, integrated visitor experience.
· Work closely with catering supervisors and chefs to ensure efficient and high-quality food service.
· Develop and implement marketing initiatives to drive visitor engagement and revenue growth.
· Oversee staff scheduling and rota creation across park and attraction supervision, liaising with the catering supervisor to ensure full operational coverage from opening to closing.
· Lead recruitment for seasonal and permanent operational roles, supporting onboarding and integration into the team.
· Ensure excellence in guest service delivery, managing the visitor journey from arrival to departure.
· Coordinate the ongoing process of collecting, analysing, and reporting on customer feedback, using findings to enhance operations.
· Collaborate with the Health and Safety Officer to ensure all risk assessments and safety protocols are in place, documented, and adhered to.
· Ensure safety meetings and relevant training take place and are properly recorded.
· Plan and implement strategies to drive continuous improvements in visitor satisfaction.
· Uphold the Lough Key brand image across all areas, including staff presentation and site aesthetics.
· Introduce and monitor quality assurance procedures and ensure staff compliance with daily checks.
· Conduct market research to identify trends, visitor needs, and potential opportunities.
· Liaise with tourism providers, tour operators, and trade contacts to promote Lough Key as a premier visitor destination.
Undertake other duties and carry out instructions as required by the General Manager.

· Demonstrated success in previous operational roles, ideally within the tourism or hospitality sector
· Knowledge of the tourism industry and the needs of diverse visitor groups
· Awareness of the role of technology in enhancing visitor experiences
· Access to own transport and a full, valid driving licence
