Title of Post: Employability Advisor - Cooperative Education & Careers Division
JOB SYNOPSIS
The Cooperative Education & Careers Division currently provides a comprehensive programme of career activities to students, including career information, advice, guidance and a number of career education initiatives. The Employability Advisor will also develop and deliver specialist careers supports for students with disabilities. The postholder will have particular focus on supporting students with disabilities across all employability support services. The role will have a particular emphasis on securing placement opportunities, at both undergraduate and graduate level, for students registered with the UL Disability Service. This will be achieved in a metric- and target-driven working environment. Duties will include the design and delivery of tailored career interventions to meet the needs of students and graduates with disabilities. These will include the provision of careers advice on an individual and group basis; the development of work-based programmes and the design of an employer mentoring programme. A key responsibility of this role will be to develop an effective network with regional development bodies and employer organizations to support the development of focused employability initiatives. In addition to working with students with disabilities, the post holder will also have responsibility for the delivery of the full range of professional careers advisory work within the existing programme of careers and employability activities delivered to all students. Significant work experience in career guidance, guidance, coaching or a related field (such as human resources or training work) will be important. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to deliver presentations to a high standard. A high level of energy, adaptability and motivation together with a working knowledge of information technology will be required.

Salary Scale: €60,428 - €85,916 p.a. pro rata
