Your role

As an Engineering Specialist Aircraft Systems, you will be primarily responsible for engineering services in Aircraft Systems provided by the Aer Lingus Engineering Department. Our Maintenance & Engineering Department drives Aer Lingus’ ambition by ensuring a safe, reliable, and efficient fleet through expert maintenance and innovation.

Your responsibilities as an Engineering Specialist Aircraft Systems will include:
  • Management and assessment of all assigned Airworthiness Directives (AD) and other mandatory/non-mandatory Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA), e.g., Service Bulletins.
  • Responsible for working in accordance with the Aer Lingus CAME and associated company procedures.
  • Provide CAMO support for the Aer Lingus A320/A321/A330 series aircraft.
  • Support Line and Base Maintenance to ensure aircraft serviceability and provide support to other departments in Aer Lingus as required.
  • Process Technical Assistance Queries (TAQ’s) assigned to the Engineering Department.
  • Liaise with Original Equipment Manufacturer, National Airworthiness Authorities, Part 21 organisations and other external agencies as required.
  • Provide CAMO support for the delivery/Redelivery of Aer Lingus aircraft.
  • Liaise with Compliance and Standards departments in relation to closing audit findings.
  • Contribution to business cases and management of change risk assessments (HIRA).
  • Provide Engineering Support to Part 145 and Maintenance Departments as required.

Your qualifications and key criteria

We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:
  • Good working knowledge of AMOS.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with others at various levels across the department as well as sharing ideas and information.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with high levels of attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with ability to take initiative and assist colleagues unprompted.
  • Can work in a fast-paced environment and keep pace with change – acquiring knowledge/skills as the business develops.
  • Hold an aircraft maintenance technical qualification in EASA Part 66 B1 or B2 disciplines, Engineering Degree or National equivalent.
  • Preferably two years working experience in Aircraft Systems engineering.
  • Knowledge of Airbus Technical Documentation.
  • Experience in writing technical work instructions and technical reports.
  • Experience in interpreting Manufacturers Publications.
  • Good understanding of aircraft regulatory requirements.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU.
  • Current unrestricted worldwide passport.
  • Provide three verifiable references.
  • Able to pass a five year security background check as this role is based in Dublin.
