Job Summary
ÉireComposites currently has a vacancy for a part time mid-career EH&S officer. The role will provide autonomy to manage all of the companies EHS needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting and maintaining Environmental, Health & Safety standards, compliance and behaviour within the company.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in the development & implementation of health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with current and future relevant legislation and industry best practice.
· Ensure effective risk assessment and risk reduction programmes are in place across the business units.
· Maintain EHS management system compliance including EN ISO14001.
· Manage monitoring programme including records management.
· Lead and support ongoing improvements such as environmental objectives and EHS annual plans.
· Conduct regular internal H&S inspections and audits to monitor effectiveness of controls and highlight any areas for improvement/action.
· Manage the action tracking process through liaising with all stakeholders to ensure agreed actions are closed in a timely manner and escalated where necessary.
· Monitors the EH&S performance via metrics.
· Identify, organise, and deliver Environmental, Health & Safety training.
· Ensure a robust H&S incident and accident investigation process is managed effectively.
· Make changes to procedure and policies in accordance with the quality system change control procedure.
· Ensure that all employees understand and observe the company health and safety procedures and risk assessments through regular toolbox talks and training as required.
· Provides EH&S leadership in all interactions and actively promote the value of EHS good practices.
· Lead and support planned and unplanned audits inspections.
· Continuously monitor and review of incident data, potential near miss reports and trends to ensure adequate investigations are taking place and appropriate corrective actions and outcomes identified and implemented.
· Facilitate monthly health & safety meetings, circulate minutes and track actions.
· Support and lead Quality and Lean programmes and projects as needed.
· Perform other duties as necessary.
Required Qualifications
Education:
· Degree or Graduate Diploma in Occupational Safety, Health and Welfare.
· Knowledge of ISO standards desirable.
· Knowledge of EU and Irish environmental, health and safety legislation as relevant to EireComposites and CTL.
· Computer literate with excellent knowledge of MS Office packages.
Skills:
· Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills essential.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work as part of a team, cross functional teams and on their own initiative.
· Must be able to work on own initiative in a very busy environment.
· Will be able to demonstrate an ability to create concise reports, procedures, and policies.
· Open to ongoing learning, feedback, development and cross training.
· Fluency in Irish is desirable but not essential.
