Gaelforce Events is part of Killary Adventure Company, a long-established provider of adventure experiences in the west of Ireland. Gaelforce delivers some of Ireland’s most iconic outdoor sporting events. Based in Leenane, Co. Galway, we deliver exciting and professionally run events across the country. We're currently seeking a highly organised and proactive person to join our team.

Job Description
This is an on-site role based at our head office in Leenane. The role involves the planning, administration, and execution of events, as well as social media and marketing activities. You’ll work closely with our Event Director to ensure seamless delivery before, during, and after each event.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Administration
- Prepare and publish race PDFs, race numbers pre event
- Manage event pack postage
- Source and manage event merchandise and consumables
- Place and monitor catering orders for events
- Prepare registration documents and event briefing packs
- Coordinate loading and packing of vehicles for events
- Respond to competitor queries and manage late entries
- Upload results and winner data post-event
- Sort, clean, and store equipment and materials after each event
Event Management
- Assist the Event Director with event day logistics
- Manage staff and operations during the event day
- Oversee high-pressure areas to ensure smooth running on event days
- Support event development by identifying opportunities to improve and enhance events year on year
- Contribute to business development by exploring new revenue streams and driving ideas from concept to activation
Marketing
- Create and schedule organic social media posts
- Source and create content (photos, captions, stories, short videos)
- Update Facebook cover photos and Linktree monthly
- Support email marketing campaigns using Mailchimp
- Monitor and respond to social media messages and comments
Essential Requirements:
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Proactive and calm when handling unexpected situations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Works well both independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and consistent, with a strong work ethic
- Takes initiative — acts without needing close supervision
- Comfortable with travel and weekend work during events
- Full Irish driving licence and over 25 years of age (for insurance purposes)
Desirable Requirements:
- Previous experience in events, tourism, or hospitality
- Some digital marketing or social media experience
- Experience using website CMS (e.g., WordPress)
- Trailer license (advantageous but not essential)
- Experience working in busy, high-pressure environments
*It is important to note that this role involves physical activity, including lifting, packing, and standing for long periods, especially during event setup and race days. Candidates should be comfortable with this aspect of the job
