Job Description:
A County Meath farm near Dunboyne is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Farm Labourer to join its beef, tillage, and equine operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day farm activities as well as assisting with landscaping tasks across the residential estate.
We are particularly interested in applicants with hands-on farm experience. A strong background in animal husbandry and a keen interest in working with cattle and horses will be a distinct advantage.
Core Purpose of the Role:
To perform all key farm functional activities within assigned areas of responsibility.
Reporting To:
Farm Manager and Assistant Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Farm Operations:
- Support the welfare of livestock, ensuring proper feeding and veterinary care
- Assist with cropping and grass rotations based on farm requirements
- Help maintain buildings, fences, drains, and tracks as instructed
- Operate farm machinery for daily tasks such as feeding livestock, spraying fields, silage, haymaking, and topping
- Perform landscaping duties such as lawn mowing, strimming, and hedge cutting
- Assist with stud farm tasks, including leading mares and foals
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 2 years of experience on a beef, sheep, or tillage farm
- Practical knowledge of worming, vaccinating, de-horning, and herding
- Skilled in operating various types of farm machinery and basic maintenance
- Comfortable working around horses
