Finance Administrator - Fixed Term Contract (12 Months)
Mater Private is seeking a highly motivated Finance Administrator to join our team at MPN.
Job Title: Finance Administrator
Department: Finance
Purpose of the Role:
1. Generate medical bills for hospital claims to healthcare providers
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that all patients/customers are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner.
2. Production of patient medical bills on the back of episodes of care.
3. Minimisation of credit and rebill scenarios to ensure the integrity of our billing processes.
4. Providing accurate accrual figures to support the Financial Accounting team..
5. Dealing with consultants around incidents within each episode of care and medical necessity.
6. Verifying patient level of cover and identifying gaps in cover to support with billing activities.
7. Deal directly with patients (both inpatients and outpatients) regarding queries relating to payment of their account.
8. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with the standards established by the Department and Hospital.
9. Ensure that all records are accurately maintained.
10. Liaise with other Departments as required
11. Participate in induction training and customer care training
12. To carry out any other duty that may be assigned from time to time
Skills & Qualifications:
1. Relevant third-level qualification desirable.
2. Previous administration and/or hospital experience would be an advantage.
3. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency within Excel and PowerPoint applications an advantage.
4. Good interpersonal skills, awareness and sensitivity to patient needs.
5. Discretion and ability to use initiative, with a proven track record of process improvement and an ability to take a cross-functional approach when it comes to problem solving.
6. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Terms and Conditions of Employment
Remuneration: Payment of salaries will be made monthly through paypath.
Annual Leave: 24 days per annum.
Health: An independent medical advisor appointed by the hospital will carry out a pre-employment medical.
Hours of Work: Thirty-seven hours each week exclusive of meal breaks, with flexibility (regarding actual working hours) to suit the local work practices and demands of the service.
Confidentiality: The post holder must maintain the confidentiality of information about patients, staff and other health service business in accordance with Hospital Policy.
Uniform: Attire must be in line with departmental policy: a neat, clean, business-like appearance must be always maintained
