CField is seeking an experienced and motivated Finishing Manager to join our existing team in Cork, delivering a large-scale residential project in Cork city.

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

The Finishing Manager is responsible for supervising the concluding stages of construction. This includes ensuring all finishing work are delivered on time and meet the highest standards of quality. This position requires strong leadership in managing tradespeople and subcontractors, with a focus on upholding EHS and Quality standards on site. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all finishing works on-site ensuring works are carried out safely, and to a high standard. These works include internal finishes such flooring, tiling, painting, joinery and final fixture installations
  • Perform quality control checks throughout the finishing phase to verify all work meets specifications and is free from defects
  • Implement company EHS and Quality policies, ensuring adherence to same across the site
  • Manage site security, and accurate sign-in and out of all personnel
  • Maintain a presentable and safe site, addressing any safety concerns
  • Coordinate with the Commercial department to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials / plant / labour to site
  • Coordinate subcontractors to ensure works are completed in line with schedule and quality standards
  • Review RAMs
  • Manage the timely delivery and installation of finishing materials
  • Maintain the site diary, implementing daily and weekly programmes
  • Review programme and plan works to ensure timely delivery of same
  • Monitor construction schedules and identify potential delays or risks early
  • Coordinate daily whiteboard meetings with Subcontractors and monitor progression of agreed actions, ensuring they work effectively and efficiently
  • Build and maintain relationships with PMs, clients and stakeholders, liaising with them to ensure works are completed as per client’s requirements and timelines
  • Liaise with Design Team where appropriate
  • Track and report on agreed key matrices to the entire site team
  • Assist the Project Manager in collating and preparing documentation and technical information required for submission to building control authorities and warranty providers, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • Assist the Project Manager in identifying any project changes which may have financial implications
  • Maintain accurate daily record keeping
  • Provide regular updates to Site Manager / Project Manager / Contracts Manager / Construction Director
  • Create accurate records of extra works and variations, informing relevant parties
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks
  • Ensure completion of snagging and handover processes to the client or end user
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractor, direct labour, and supplier performance

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in large-scale residential projects is essential
  • Experience in organising labour and sub-contractors
  • Knowledge of finishing trades including plastering, tiling, painting etc.
  • Experience in timber frame is preferable
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality construction projects with emphasis on safe and efficient construction
  • Knowledge of Irish Building Regulations and EHS standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Highly organised with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors and the site team
  • CSCS Card and Safe Pass required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Document Management System (Please note the company uses Procore software and training will be provided)
