Job Title: Food and Beverage Assistant
Job Summary:
The Food and Beverage Assistant provides exceptional customer service, assists in food and drink preparation, and ensures a clean, welcoming dining environment. They work under the supervision of a manager or supervisor to deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and serve customers, take orders, and answer menu queries.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, following recipes and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, service stations, and equipment, adhering to hygiene and safety regulations.
- Process payments, operate cash registers, and handle transactions accurately.
- Assist with setting up and clearing tables, ensuring timely service.
- Support stock management, including restocking supplies and monitoring inventory.
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Team player with a customer-focused attitude.
- Previous experience in hospitality or food service is a plus but not always required.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights (e.g., trays, stock), and move quickly during busy shifts.
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- On-the-job training provided; food safety certification may be required.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced, dynamic settings such as restaurants, hotels, or event venues.
- May involve working under pressure during peak hours.
