Colliers Funeral Directors are looking to recruit a Funeral Assistant on a part-time basis to join their team.
The ideal candidate will assist in all aspects of funeral services including body collection, preparation, visitation, services, burials and cremations. Full clean Irish driving licence essential.
The successful candidate will be required to work at weekends, outside of normal working hours and provide holiday cover. The candidate should also be able to reliably travel to the funeral home at all times of the day.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Assists in transfer of the deceased to the funeral home from hospitals, residences and other care facilities.
· Driving of all company vehicles (eg. Hearse and Removal Vehicle).
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Ability to manage distressing and stressful situations with sensitivity and care.
· Excellent verbal communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Always respectful of the deceased and their families.
· Ability to dress and coffin the deceased.
· Detail-oriented and extremely organised.
Education and Experience:
· Experience is desirable, however other candidates will be considered and training will be provided.
· A knowledge of the funeral industry is desirable.
· A good knowledge of Bray and the surrounding area, up to and including Dublin City, is extremely desirable.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to traverse a variety of locations and terrains in all weather conditions and be capable of lifting heavy loads above 60kgs.
· Must be able to carry a coffin and lower a coffin into a grave.
