General Operatives Day and Evening Shift

Requirements

Reporting to the Team Leader/Shift Leader

Summary of responsibilities

General Operatives handle various tasks, including unloading vehicles, sorting items and preparing linen for ironing. They operate washing and ironing machines, follow quality control procedures, package orders accurately, assist with storage, and perform miscellaneous production tasks in the wash area, production floor, or dispatch areas.

• Follow instructions and guidance from supervisors
• Ensure the efficient and effective operation of your assigned machine, which may require bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Meet targets set by your Team Leader or Shift Leader.
• Be adaptable and interchangeable within the plant.
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to the principle of "a place for everything and everything in its place."
• Use resources efficiently and responsibly.
• Follow all Quality System Procedures at all times.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and work in a safe manner.
• Handle products properly and with care at all times.
• Partake in loading and unloading tasks.
• Maintain a positive attitude toward work and demonstrate good judgment.
• Be honest, trustworthy, and a cooperative team player.
• Use initiative, stay motivated, and be eager to learn.
• Be punctual and adhere to workplace rules.
• Follow all Health and Safety instructions and take responsibility for your health, safety, and that of others.
• Report hazards, incidents, near misses, or accidents to your Team Leader or Shift Leader.
• Show respect to all colleagues.
