Canada Street Medical – Maternity Leave Cover (Part-Time Nurse)
We’re a friendly, forward-thinking GP practice in Waterford City and we’re looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our team on a part-time basis to cover maternity leave commencing September 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment where your skills are valued and your input genuinely makes a difference. We're open to 3–5 mornings per week, and we can offer flexibility around scheduling for the right candidate.
The Role
You’ll be delivering high-quality care to patients of all ages. Your clinical expertise will support both preventative and responsive care, with a focus on:
- Adult & child vaccinations / immunisations
- Cervical smears (CervicalCheck registration required)
- Chronic Disease Management
- Wound care & dressings
- Telephone triage and patient advice
- Phlebotomy
- Suture removal
- ECG & 24-hour ABPM
- Stock management & ordering
Requirements
- Must be currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Minimum of 4 years' nursing experience
- General Practice or Primary Care experience preferred
- CervicalCheck training essential
- Vaccinator training desirable
- Confident working independently and as part of a team
- Must hold a valid work visa (Stamp 4 or Stamp 1G) or be an EU/EEA citizen
Job Type: Part-time, Fixed-Term (Maternity Leave Cover)
Pay: €25.00–€30.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 8–20 hours per week (3–5 mornings)

- Monday to Friday mornings
- No weekend work
