Principal Objectives of the Team and Role

Role Purpose
The Golf Operations Operative plays a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the golf resort’s daily activities, both on the course and within the pro shop. This role involves performing a wide range of tasks related to golf course setup, guest services, equipment and inventory management, and retail operations. The operative is expected to maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring a seamless guest experience through efficient operations, quality customer service, and professional retail support. This role is vital in maintaining the resort's reputation for excellence and contributing to a positive atmosphere on and off the course.
Key Responsibilities and Associated Duties
Golf Course Setup and Maintenance
- Ensure all practice facilities (including driving range) are maintained to a high standard.
- Maintain all rental equipment, checking that items are clean, well-stocked, and in good working order before being rented to guests.
Guest Services and Support
- Greet and assist guests as they arrive at the golf course, providing information about course conditions, tee times, and available services.
- Support golf bookings, including checking in guests and ensuring accurate and timely processing of tee time reservations.
- Provide a high level of customer service by answering questions, addressing requests, and resolving minor guest issues.
Equipment Management and Rentals
- Ensure golf clubs, carts, trolleys, and other rental equipment are in good condition, clean, and available for use.
- Assist with managing the inventory of rental items, ensuring they are replenished as needed and stored securely.
Pro Shop and Retail Operations
- Assist the pro shop team with daily operations, including merchandising, stock rotation, and maintaining an attractive retail environment.
- Provide product information and recommendations to guests, enhancing the retail experience and supporting sales goals.
- Process point-of-sale transactions accurately and efficiently, assisting with refunds, exchanges, and other retail administrative tasks.
- Monitor stock levels and alert management to any replenishment needs or opportunities for new product introductions.
Health, Safety, and Security
- Monitor the course and surrounding areas to ensure that safety guidelines are followed by guests, including proper use of golf carts and adherence to course rules.
- Report any accidents, injuries, or hazardous conditions to management in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by disposing of waste, keeping pathways clear, and ensuring safety signage is in place.
Event and Tournament Assistance
- Prepare competition scorecards, markers, and signage for tournaments or special events.
- Help coordinate guests during events, providing directions and general assistance to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with any retail requirements during events, such as merchandising promotional items or supporting pro shop sales.
General Administrative Support
- Assist with maintaining records related to bookings, equipment rentals, and retail inventory management.
- Help with regular reporting, noting any maintenance, operational, or retail issues that require attention.
