Title: Goods Inwards & Maintenance Manager
Job Purpose:
The Purpose of the Goods Inwards & Maintenance Manager will be to undertake all Warehouse & Maintenance tasks as required by the Site Operations Manager. He/She will be responsible for various interior and exterior maintenance duties within the Portlaoise Plaza. He/She will take responsibility for the warehouse, layout, cleanliness, stock, goods inwards and outwards, transfers, docket system, and all associated practices associated with a warehouse role.
In addition, the manager is responsible for carrying out general maintenance, Grounds keeping, fuel deliveries (full training provided), site maintenance, goods inwards, shop floor, painting, carpentry, plumbing, upholstery, and tiling, etc, with minimum upset at the customer level. This is a summary of expected duties associated with this role; however, additional duties may be added from time to time.
Job Description:
- Manage all aspects of site maintenance, cleaning, and repairs
- Manage a team of people to complete the maintenance, stock control, goods inwards, and site event preparations
- Manage a labour budget and hours for the department
- To check and record the quality and quantity of goods inwards as per purchasing requirements and according to the goods receiving procedure.
- To keep the back stores area secure by controlling the movement of suppliers in the goods receiving area
- To maintain and merchandise the stock room as per food safety regulations, and in an orderly fashion.
- To submit all invoice/delivery documentation to the office daily.
- To provide general maintenance as and when necessary, based on site needs – both internally (within the premises) and externally.
- Managing the ordering and costing of relevant supplies to enable works to be carried out in some instances.
- Must carry out work effectively, efficiently, and with minimum disruption to customers and at the restaurant level.
- Take ownership of work, pride in workmanship, and accountability for the finished standard.
- To ensure the cleanliness of all external areas, including storage areas, forecourt, and car parks.
- Manage the goods inwards, stocks, and stock management, including weekly stocktakes.
- Manage paperwork and administration while ensuring hygiene and cleaning standards are kept to the highest standards in keeping with QSC requirements and HACCP.
- To ensure that the correct storage and documentation of returns are maintained.
- Must be flexible, able to work in all areas, i.e. painting, repairing seating, replacing ceiling tiles, lights, etc. and at short notice.
- To ensure all company rules, policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Manage, delegate and train staff to sufficiently execute duties in an efficient manner.
- To ensure all transactions with customers and suppliers are dealt with in a professional manner.
- To ensure the lines of communication are kept open at all times with site management.
- Manage waste disposal and ensure we implement a reduce, reuse and recycle principal into our site. Manage waste externally and internally behind counters and in kitchens.
- To manage the breakdown, storage and return of combis ensuring the highest standards of safety and hygiene are assured at all times.
- To be familiar with all Health & Safety Regulations pertaining to your department and to report any breaches to store management.
- To follow company security procedures in terms of storage areas/back gate access and report any breaches to management.
- To maintain cleanliness and upkeep of all forecourt areas and car parks, looking after emptying bins, weeds, and any other duties in this respect.
- To ensure that health and safety guidelines are adhered to when using the compactor.
- To ensure the electrical room is kept empty at all times.
- To ensure drains are kept clean.
- Manage Waste Water Treatment and Grease Trap systems daily, ensuring compliance.
- Manage and Maintain customer parking areas, flower beds, grass and embankment. Manage and monitor customer parking and staff car parking.
- Manage site maintenance and ensuring operation of all necessary aspects of the property to ensure business doesn’t suffer.
- Manage site and ensure in so far as physically possible the site remains open during extreme weather events, ensuring safety of staff and customers is always a priority.
- Assist in other adhoc duties across the site as required.
THE JOB:
- Reports and responds to the requests from the Site Operations Manager, and carries out several proactive and reactive maintenance tasks daily.
- Employees must abide by company standards in all aspects of employment.
- Carries out all duties diligently and has a positive impact on quality and cleanliness in the warehouse/store.
- Must be flexible, able to work in all areas, and at short notice.
- Must abide by all standards and procedures and ensure others do likewise.
- Additional duties may be added or those listed above modified.
- Conscious of the safety of self, other colleagues, and customers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Fast-paced, “non-stop” environment. Physically demanding at times due to business requirements such as volume, staffing levels, and preparedness for demand. High business volumes may require prolonged periods without sitting down.
