Franciscan Convent is a beautiful modern building which is home to 26 elderly and retired Sisters and a dedicated team of staff. The role of the Housekeeping/Catering Assistant is to support the House Manager in providing the highest standard of service to the Sisters at all times. This is a dual role where you would be part of the housekeeping team in providing a cleaning service to the Franciscan Convent and associated houses and you would also be part of the small kitchen and dining room team, where you would help to ensure the provision of an excellent dining environment through your adherence to the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and organisation in both the dining room and the kitchen. The post holder is not involved in the preparation or cooking of food but is critical to the service, clearing and presentation of the dining experience. This is not simply a backroom job and you would be involved with the sisters and the staff at all times in this busy and essential support role.
For this addition to our team, you must be flexible in your availability to work during weekdays and at the weekend.
The ideal candidate will have worked in the hospitality industry and have experience in a similar role and also hold the relevant HACCP qualification. However we are looking mainly for a desire to learn and work in an organisation where hospitality and care for others has been the mainstay of the sister's lives.
