Job Title: Incident Prevention Officer
Based: Ballymount
Reporting to: Risk and Compliance Manager
Purpose: To focus on the reduction of incidents and Company safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities and tasks
- Lead on safety incentives and championing a culture of safety across the business.
- Focus on incident trends, location hot spots, multiple fault incidents, etc, and introduce safety-related ideas to reduce such incidents.
- Attend and manage the scene of incidents.
- Investigate incidents, produce detailed reports of the findings and present these to the Learning Group for continuous learning.
- Ensure delivery of route risk assessments by relevant departments.
- Act upon road risks raised by colleagues.
- Attend Public Transport Forums on our network and represent Go-Ahead Ireland.
- Organise and manage the Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Task Force meetings.
- Support the Risk and Compliance Manager with delivering Incident Manager training and the Incident Manager rota.
- Work collaboratively with Operations teams to identify potential risks and develop practical solutions.
- Deliver Incident Management classroom training to all new drivers.
- Focus on reducing incidents involving Incident Prone Drivers (IPD).
- Report serious incidents to Go-Ahead Group in a timely and accurate manner.
- Build and maintain key relationships with external stakeholders.
- Work with the Training department to ensure learnings are acted on proactively.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of safety improvement documentation.
- Be an integral part in the delivery of the Risk programme, with a particular focus on engagement, training and data.
- Support, contribute and lead (when required) the introduction of new technology for road safety.
- Present campaign ideas and findings to senior managers, including the executive team.
- Support other members of the HSEQ Team as required.
- Ensures that Health and Safety requirements are monitored and managed proactively.
- Responsibility in managing, participating, and complying with the Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Any other tasks as required by the Risk and Compliance Manager.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Essential:
- A confident speaker and presenter
- Experience of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in report writing
- Experience in managing safety campaigns
- Track record of meeting performance and KPIs.
Experience in understanding data trends.
Desirable:
- Proficient in using computers and creative applications to design engaging posters, campaigns, and safety materials.
- Experience of working in the transport sector.
- Experience in investigations

General Safety Responsibilities:
To act in a manner as to ensure the health, safety, welfare, environment and fire safety of yourself and others in the organisation as well as any clients and visitors.
Ensure that you and any guests to any company premises understand emergency and evacuation arrangements.
Ensure your working environment is maintained in a safe and tidy condition. To act proactively in identifying and any unsafe practices or safety risks in the organisation and reporting these through the appropriate channels.
Ensure adherence to all relevant company and Go-Ahead group company policies and procedures.
