DPS Engineering are a seeking a Junior Safety Officer for a Pharmaceutical assignment located in Ringaskiddy, Cork. This is initially a 12 month contract with potential to run past this duration.
The Junior Safety Officer will support the EHS Engineering Group within a dynamic Capital Projects Team. This role is integral to ensuring safety compliance across all Capital and Core Projects, with a strong focus on GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environments. The successful candidate will also be responsible for CMP (Cleanroom Monitoring Program) compliance, training delivery, and documentation management to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Review and approve contractor safety documentation and RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
- Develop and maintain Construction Health and Safety Plans for active projects.
- Conduct weekly project and environmental audits and track safety statistics.
- Support permitting systems including LOTO, confined space, and hot works.
- Deliver cleanroom gowning and safety training to engineering and QC personnel.
- Ensure documentation is GMP/GDP compliant and audit-ready.
- Prepare and maintain the Cleanroom Activity Monthly Tracker and Presentation.
- Monitor personnel performance in cleanrooms and assess readiness for independent work.
- Assist in shutdown preparation, monitoring, and documentation.
- Collaborate with QC Micro Manager and Project Managers to ensure cleanroom compliance.
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in a safety or compliance role, preferably in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Familiarity with EHS regulations, GMP/GDP standards, and cleanroom protocols.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS management systems (e.g., EIDA).
