The Errigal Country House Hotel is a 4-star wedding and events venue with an excellent reputation for food and service. Alongside our established offerings, we have recently expanded with the R&R Brasserie and R&R Garden Spa, providing high-quality dining and guest experiences. We are now seeking hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porters and Kitchen Hands to join our busy kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Porter Duties:
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen at all times.
- Wash pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Operate and maintain dishwashing machines.
- Keep food preparation areas clean and organised.
- Dispose of waste properly and safely.
- Assist with basic food preparation when required.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with any ad-hoc duties.
Kitchen Hand Duties:
- Assist chefs with food preparation, peeling, chopping, and portioning.
- Ensure ingredients are prepared, stored, and rotated correctly.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the food prep areas.
- Assist with plating and presentation during busy service periods.
- Ensure health & safety and HACCP standards are followed at all times.
- Support the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is an advantage but not essential (training provided).
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
