1. JOB PURPOSE
A laboratory technician is responsible for supporting scientists in research, testing and laboratory maintenance. He/she will support laboratory-based scientific investigations by undertaking a range of routine technical tasks and experiments.

2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reports to designated Manager.
- Prepares buffers, intermediates, and final components.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of all experimental work performed and batches of
- material produced and tested.
- Continues developing knowledge related to project work, whilst developing a broader awareness
- of Kypha’s technical direction.
- Assists in the qualification and validation of new equipment required for scale up. Writes and
- executes Installation, Operational and performance qualification documents for new equipment.
- Uses all Production equipment used in the manufacture of Rapid tests.
- Ensures novel and innovative ideas are brought to the attention of the Team Leader in a timely
- manner.
- Ensures that all work the job holder is responsible for complies with quality audit processes (e.g.,
- ISO13485 and the FDA Quality System regulation, CFR Title 21 Part 820).
- Ensures facilities are kept tidy, clean and safety procedures adhered to with good housekeeping
- e.g., temperature monitoring of fridges, calibration of equipment.
- Contributes to internal project meetings and liaise with external parties as required.
- Creates a positive, productive, and collaborative working relationship with all staff within Kypha.
- Other duties as defined by Kypha from time to time.
3. QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, associate's or bachelor’s degree
- in a scientific field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience working in a lab preferred.
- Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs.
- Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply,
- divide) in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages,
- and ratios.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to write correspondence and reports.
- Excellent organizational skills.
