The ADI Isolation Business Unit is part of the Precision Signal Chain Group and is growing its design team in developing high voltage solutions & advanced Isolation technology for industrial, automotive, communications & medical applications. In today’s increasingly digitalized world ranging from Industry 4.0 to automotive electrification and digital health, ADI is the expert where electrical meets electronic. With ubiquitous sensing and digitization, certified iCoupler digital isolators protect people, assets, and data from high voltages and hazardous environments. Our innovative portfolio delivers best-in-class patented digital isolation technology for data, communication protocols, power conversion products such as high-power isolated dc-to-dc converters, isolated gate drivers crafted for IGBT/SiC & GaN, and isolated Σ-Δ (sigma-delta) ADC modulators & amplifiers.
About the role:
The Isolation Business Unit in Limerick is looking for an experienced, creative, and highly motivated IC Layout Designer to complete cell & toplevel layout, verification, and tape out for multi-die CMOS IC projects. The ability to manage their time efficiently to collaborate on or to lead time-to-market sensitive layout projects from floor-planning to tape out on both internal and external foundry processes (40nm & 180nm)
Key Qualifications:
- Work closely with design engineers to ensure proper circuit performance on analog/mixed-signal layouts, such as BGAP, BIAS, ADC, DAC, LDO, OSC, AMP circuits, etc.
- Proficient knowledge of Cadence Virtuoso Suite (XL, analog router, etc.) & MG Calibre verification tools (LVS, DRC, ERC, ANT, PERC, Extraction, EM, etc.)
- Understand best known layout practices, such as - device matching, critical net shielding, EM, ESD, Latch-up, HV & powerFET device layout, assembly constraints and multi well device isolation, etc.
- Ability to lead the layout of large-scale sub-blocks and toplevel, including scheduling, floor-planning, verification, and tape-out activities.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues, to contribute to improving layout methodologies and teach & mentor other layout designers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BSEE or equivalent degree, or formal training in IC Layout and 8+ years of experience
Additional Skills:
- Good understanding of the Linux OS environment, data management & data archival tools.
- Some programming skills in Cadence SKILL, C++, or Python is a plus.
- Good understanding of device structure, assembly, and fabrication flows.
- Excellent teamwork skills, including written and verbal communications, within multi-discipline, multi-cultural and multi-site environments.
- Knowledge of digital implementation, digital verification flow and current EDA tools is a plus.
