We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Loss Prevention Officer to join the Finance team of one of Ireland’s most innovative and leading homewares retailers. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in protecting the integrity and profitability of a fast-growing retail business known for its creativity, customer focus, and forward-thinking approach.
As a Loss Prevention Officer, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding the business against financial risks, inefficiencies, and potential losses. Working closely with a collaborative team of 12 finance professionals, you will conduct internal audits, monitor compliance with policies and procedures, and identify opportunities for improvement across the organisation.
Your role will involve investigating anomalies, analysing data, and providing actionable insights that will directly support strategic decision-making. You’ll also contribute to strengthening our internal controls, ensuring compliance with best practices.
Tasks will include:
· Visiting 24 ROI stores unannounced to audit internal procedures
· Testing IT governance procedures
· Attendance at stock takes and provision of feedback
· Analysing and providing feedback on stock breakages / losses, refunds and returns, discounts etc.
· Reviewing CCTV for instances of thefts, accidents and other instances in stores
· Testing payment procedures at head office
· Testing internal procedures in the distribution centres
· Taking part in a retailers loss prevention forum
· Undertaking other adhoc requests from the CFO
Candidate requirements:
· Full clean drivers licence
· Experience of a controls-based audit a strong advantage
· Exceptionally strong excel skills (power BI an advantage)
· Ability to prioritise and reprioritise as required
· Flexibility re weekend stock take twice per year
· Strong interpersonal skills
