Medical secretary required for a busy practice in Kilkenny City. This is part-time position for 2 days per week (Thursday & Friday – from 9-17:30pm)
The role:
- Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone.
- Reception is the main point of contact for the surgery – taking calls, replying to emails and scheduling appointments.
- Handle cash/card transactions - Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Optimizes patients' experience, medical staff time, and treatment rooms by scheduling appointments efficiently.
- Be flexible and prepared to take on additional duties as required.
Essential Requirements:
- Secretary / administration experience.
- Experience within a medical practice desirable but not essential.
- Fluent English both spoken and written.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Have the ability to multi-task and prioritizes as needed .
- Knowledge and working experience of Socrates would be a distinct advantage.
- Excellent MS Office Skills.
- A professional manner and strong ability to create rapport with patients and staff.
- A very high level of discretion and confidentiality/data protection.
- Effective team worker.
- Professional, motivated, enthusiastic and friendly.

Pay: From €12,000.00 per year
