About the Role:
We are currently recruiting a reliable and professional Night Porter to join our team at a busy hotel in Clonmel. This is a key front-facing role responsible for the smooth and secure running of the hotel during the night. The successful candidate will provide excellent guest service, handle late check-ins and early check-outs, and ensure the safety, cleanliness, and comfort of all guests throughout the night.
Key Responsibilities:
Welcome late-arriving guests and assist with check-in/check-out procedures
Monitor the premises throughout the night to ensure guest safety and hotel security
Handle guest queries or requests professionally and efficiently
Set up and service meeting rooms or function spaces as needed
Assist with room service or late-night guest needs (e.g. delivering extra linen, drinks, etc.)
Complete nightly audits and basic front office admin tasks (training provided)
Prepare the hotel for the next day (e.g. setting up breakfast areas, ensuring lobby and public areas are clean and presentable)
Support with early morning guest departures, wake-up calls, or taxi bookings
Ensure fire safety and health & safety procedures are followed at all times
Assist housekeeping or maintenance teams with overnight tasks when required
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar hotel or hospitality role is preferred but not essential
Strong customer service skills and a professional, friendly manner
Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities independently
Excellent timekeeping, reliability, and attention to detail
Basic computer skills for front desk and night audit tasks
Fluent English, both spoken and written
Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
Manual handling certificate and knowledge of fire safety procedures is an advantage (training can be provided)
