Operational Support Specialist
Role: Operational Support Specialist

An excellent opportunity has arisen at Boliden Tara Mines for Operational Support Specialists.
This is a key position reporting directly to the Mine Heads of Section.
As an Operational Support Specialist, you will advise the Heads of Section in matters relating to the coordination and execution of projects and adopted development programs within your section, including training of co-workers.
Also, part of the role is to give support/advise within your area of expertise to all operational and support functions to ensure that production, cost and EHSQ targets are achieved
As a Boliden co-worker you will promote and uphold the Boliden Tara values of Care, Courage, and Responsibility, whilst also ensuring a safe and positive working environment within the mining operation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for Head of Section and Supervisors
- Act as change agent during introduction of new processes and procedures (New Way of Working)
- Ensure effective working methods and promote a culture of best practice
- Educates and mentor new engineers, supervisors and other co-workers within area of own expertise
- Lead and partake in projects and conduct investigations and assignment as instructed by the Head of Section and/or Manager of Mining
Skills and Capabilities:
- Relevant college/university degree or person with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position, preferably within base metal mining.
- Must have good analytical skills, good organizational skills, a high learning capacity, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent understanding of the mining process
- Good communication skills with strong verbal and written English
- Computer literate
- Flexible approach to work
- Strong interpersonal skills – an ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrates a willingness to drive new opportunities and
- continuous improvements
- Valid drivers’ licence
Additional Info:
- This role will be full time, Mon – Fri basis from 7:30am – 16.00pm.
- There will be some international travel required as part of this role.
- There will be a degree of flexibility associated with this role in line with operational requirements.
