The Operations Manager will lead day-to-day operations across production, engineering and maintenance for a leading agri-feed manufacturing business. This role will drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing principles, optimize productivity, ensure compliance, and support strategic growth through innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily operations of production and engineering functions.
- Ensure production targets, quality standards, and customer delivery schedules are met.
- Manage and develop cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, and logistics.
2. Engineering & Maintenance
- Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all equipment and plant infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Engineering to support equipment upgrades, process automation, and CAPEX projects.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
3. Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
- Implement and embed Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, etc.) across the site.
- Identify and eliminate process inefficiencies to improve yield, reduce downtime, and increase OEE.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operator engagement.
4. People & Performance Management
- Lead, coach, and mentor operational teams to achieve performance goals.
- Conduct performance reviews and support skills development.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential Criteria:
· Minimum 2:2 Degree in Pharmacy, Product Design or related disciplines.
· A minimum of 4 years’ experience working in a new product development or product design role in an industrial context.
· Experience in designing new production processes in conjunction with external partners.
· Experience in evaluating, procuring and deploying new manufacturing technologies.
· Must be legally entitled to work in Ireland/EU and travel thorough the island of Ireland if required; if you do require a visa/work permit allowing you to work in Ireland/EU you must upload a copy of it with your application.
Desirable Criteria:
· Experience of working in a collaborative environment involving product owners, sales teams, manufacturing and operations personnel.
· Experience of working in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical or chemical sectors.
· Experience in designing/sourcing appropriate packaging solutions.
