Job Description:
An Optometrist Technician plays a vital role in supporting the optometrist and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. The role requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in optometry, health sciences, or a related field. Key responsibilities include performing pre-screening tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and retinal imaging, and accurately recording patients’ medical and ocular history. The technician assists with contact lens fittings and vision testing, supports patients in selecting eyewear, and takes precise measurements. Additional duties involve maintaining and calibrating optical instruments, managing front-desk and reception tasks, maintaining records, monitoring inventory, and ensuring adherence to hygiene and clinical safety standards.
