Role Brief:
NNIT Ireland has a unique opportunity for a highly experienced OSI PI (Aveva PI) System Administrator to support the creation of OSI-PI output screens for a major client project.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Custom Analysis configuration:
- Create and maintain PI Asset framework.
- Develop PI AF analyses to compute derived values, KPIs, and performance indicators.
- Configure event frames for critical process events and PI Notifications if required.
- Data Integration and Tag Management:
- Create new PI tags and manage existing tags, including digital, analogue, and calculated points.
- Troubleshoot data flow from source systems into the PI Data Archive if required.
- Understand source data and how to utilize it in custom analysis.
- PI Vision Development:
- Be able to create dynamic PI Vision displays that automatically update based on selected event frames.
- Know how to use PI Vision event frames search panel effectively to filter by template, time range, asset, or attribute.
- Design and develop PI Vision dashboards tailored to user requirements.
- Collaborate with process engineers and operations staff to visualize real-time and historical data meaningfully.
- PI Asset framework and Maintenance:
- Monitor the health and performance of PI analysis created.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability.
Skills Brief:
- Experience of the creation and maintenance of a PI asset framework.
- Experience during project delivery and operations support of Data Historian systems, MES systems and SCADA/DCS based control systems including network topology concepts and general IS/IT aspects.
- Installing, configuring, validating PI Servers ecosystem (DA, AF, Analysis, Vision) and interfaces
- Experience with AF, Analysis and Notifications
- Experienced with PI Vision, PI Event Frames and PI Batch setup and configuration
- Responsible of project deliverables such as documentation and validation activities required as part of the scope
- Work closely with other project resources and team members, coordinating activities and provide information as required
- Ensuring compliance with company and customer standards and procedures well as approved methodologies, including schedule, budget and resources monitoring as part of project deployment
- Experience with BI tools (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire), SQL and any programming language as well as with Azure/AWS will be an advantage
Person Brief:
Candidates will, as a minimum have a bachelor’s degree in IT, Mechatronics/Automation or Engineering, or a highly related technical discipline with 8 or more years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
You should have significant OSI PI experience and be able to provide evidence of delivering a number of projects in this technology during your career. A minimum of 5 years experience in a GMP regulated environment (Pharma/Life Sciences, Biotech or Medical Devices) is essential and only candidates with significant experience in this regard can be considered.

The role will be a mostly onsite with some but minimal remote work possible. You should be living in the Leinster area and able work onsite in Kilkenny as required. You should have transport and be willing and able to travel in Ireland if required with occasional travel in the EU potentially required as well. Only EU or UK citizens can be considered at this time.
