Purpose of the role

To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with both corporate and individual clients. It's the bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term success. 

Accountabilities

• Management of client relationships to identify the clients financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance to support the analysis of data obtained from various sources, including the investment portfolio and cash flow, to identify trends, insights, areas for improvement and additional services to support client needs.
• Research and understanding of the client's industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
• Design of customised solutions that address the client's specific needs and objectives, incorporating a range of products and services from the bank's portfolio.
• Communication of the value proposition of proposed solutions, justification of recommendations, and negotiation of terms that are beneficial for both the client and the bank.
• Provision of guidance to clients to support their financial decisions, offering expert investment advice, risk management and wealth management strategies support, and updates on market trends to ensure a positive and continuous relationship.
• Assessment of financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships, and implementation of measures to minimise potential losses.
• Documentation of all client interactions, transactions, and agreements to ensure transparency and auditability, and communicate findings effectively to support product development, service offerings, and the overall bank strategy.
• Monitoring of client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other relevant metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of relationship management efforts.

Join us as a Private Banker in our Private Banking team based in our Dublin office.

The Private Bank team offers bespoke banking and investment solutions to Ultra high-net-worth clients, family offices, pension funds, charities and corporations. Barclays Private Bankers act as trusted advisors to clients providing bespoke banking services, lending and wealth structuring, in addition to a world class range of investment solutions and products across all asset classes.

The role holder will be responsible for growing, managing and maintaining a book of UHNW Private Banking clients either resident in EEA or directly linked to the EEA region, and with emphasis in Spain, Portugal and southern Europe. They will act as a trusted advisor to clients and provide access to the full range of investment solutions, banking services, credit/lending solutions, Structured Solutions, Wealth Advisory and Philanthropic services available from Barclays Private Bank. They will undertake business within Barclays risk and control policies.   

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will have excellent relationship skills with experience of managing and handling the sophisticated needs of individuals and families.
• The ideal candidate will have experience of building a client base using internal and external networks, be effective in gaining an in-depth understanding of client’s needs and advising on a diverse range of wealth management solutions with high penetration ratios per client.
• The ideal candidate will have experience in controlling and monitoring of risk within a client book.
• The ideal candidate will have substantial experience of the Financial Services industry, particularly in the areas of MiFiD Retail regulated products and services

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will have a high aptitude and understanding of the digital landscape, with the ability to effectively manage Clients’ changing needs in this area.
• The ideal candidate will have excellent market exposure and multi-disciplined private banking expertise.
• The ideal candidate will have excellent business development and cold calling skills.
• The ideal candidate will have good management skills and experience of influencing others through direct or indirect management
• The ideal candidate will hold either the Irish Qualified Financial Advisor QFA designation or the Accredited Product Advisor APA designation, or be prepared to study for and attain any of these qualifications.

This role is based in Dublin, with the possibility but not the commitment of moving to Spain at least 2-3 years.

This role is deemed as a Controlled Function role under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
