The Production Planner will ensure the supply of raw materials and production is in line with the demand from customers whilst minimising lead times and costs. They will coordinate the flow of materials in the Injection Moulding department according to forecast and weekly production schedules. They will support sourcing, selecting, and negotiating with all suppliers for the best package in terms of quality, cost, and delivery. The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of the production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Moulding Production Operations support team in determining raw material, equipment and resources needed to cover Production demand.
- Manage ordering and intake of raw materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and completion dates.
- Schedule shifts and resources according to Production needs.
- Identification and selection of new suppliers.
- Select and negotiate best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries, and services.
- Preparation and processing of purchase orders and documents in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain complete, updated purchasing records and system pricing.
- Vendor Management.
- Analyse and prepare reports needed for Production and KPIs.
- Proactively report product and material availability issues, and troubleshoot when necessary
- Collaborate with the Quality, Warehousing and Production teams.
- Complete special projects and assignments as requested.
- Coordinate with suppliers and production to ensure on-time delivery.
- Handling and monitoring of supplier claims.
- Maintain a high standard of duties in line with 6S principles.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous Production Planning and relevant Purchasing experience essential.
- Understanding of an MRP system and strong Excel, Word, and computer skills essential.
- Third level qualification in relevant discipline desirable (Supply Chain, Business or Operations).
- Experience in a Manufacturing or Medical device industry is desirable.
- Strong organisational skills, with an ability prioritise to respond to Production’s ever-changing needs.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Positive and can-do attitude as you will handle a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong time management and ability to prioritise.
