Production Planner Support

Job Objective

The Production Planning Support role is pivotal in assisting the Production Planning team to develop and execute daily production plans aligned with capacity and customer demand.

This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure material availability, adherence to schedules, and maintenance of quality standards.

Additionally, the role requires providing shift coverage for Production Planners during their absences, ensuring continuity in planning activities.

Duties and Responsibilites

Planning & Scheduling

• Assist in developing detailed short- to medium-term production plans and capacity assessments.
• Collaborate with the Management team to coordinate and plan production activities aimed at improving runtime efficiency.
• Participate in department activities, including planning, forecasting, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Issue daily production plans and verify material availability against the plan.
• Release production orders and review production schedules with management.
• Generate weekly capacity reports, detailing lead times and advising management on additional shifts or overtime needed to meet customer demand.
• Attend daily production meetings and liaise with production personnel to optimize runtime.
• Support daily sales allocations, review and adjust the daily plan per customer / product.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are upheld through effective planning.
• Maintain product quality above required levels, ensuring it is not compromised due to planning or scheduling constraints.

Cost Management

• Contribute to company cost-saving initiatives.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure production schedules align with health and safety targets.

• Adhere to relevant HR policies and procedures.
• Comply with company reporting requirements.

Team Collaboration

• Work with senior team members to drive cultural change initiatives.
• Provide timely feedback to management and other functions.
• Demonstrate company values, including Challenge, Sense of Urgency, and Openness.

Shift Coverage

• Provide coverage for Production Planners during their scheduled absences, adhering to their specific shift hours.
• Ensure seamless transition and continuity in planning activities during coverage periods.

Requirements

Experience & Skills

• Proven experience in production planning or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production processes, capacity planning, and scheduling.

• Proficiency in using production planning software and Microsoft Office.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.

• Flexibility to work various shifts as required for coverage.

• Highly motivated and proven ability to work on own initiative
