About the role
This position is responsible for providing onsite service and support to customers. The postholder will act as a mobile field service engineer on assigned open tickets to resolve customer affecting technical issues in a timely fashion, to maintain maximum customer satisfaction. This relates to all technology including EPOS workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor specific hardware and software.
This role provides support 5 days a week between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
- To carry out installations for a range of EPoS hardware and associated network equipment.
- To complete documentation as required (i.e., configuration documentation, test documentation)
- To fix or replace hardware as directed by assigned tickets.
- To diagnose and fault find at remote sites as directed by assigned tickets.
- To implement approved system modifications, programs, and other such requests as per ticket/project instructions.
- To transport hardware to and from customer locations as directed by assigned tickets.
- To work in collaboration with the KFP Service Desk, clients, and senior staff as required.
- To escalate problems to other departments as needed.
- To collect and log detailed information within the KFP ticketing system.
- To manage customer expectations on site and throughout your visit.
- To assist the Break-Fix team as required.
- To perform warranty repairs and equipment configuration as required.
- To supervise and train less experienced staff or project team.
- To promote knowledge transfer to strengthen the team’s performance.
About you
The ideal person for this role would have experience performing IMAC (Install/Move/Add/Change), field service, and cabling duties in retail environments, along with a strong working knowledge of EPoS hardware and network operating systems. They would possess expertise in troubleshooting hardware and software compatibility issues across diverse configurations and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills. This individual would excel in diagnosing and solving problems while maintaining professionalism when engaging with all levels of client organisations. They would be self-directed, highly organised, and capable of prioritising multiple service requests under pressure with minimal supervision.
Additionally, they would have excellent communication skills, the ability to travel across the UK and EU, and a full driving licence, ensuring they can effectively deliver high-quality service in dynamic and challenging environments.
