Job Title: Research Nurse

Job Purpose:
The Research Nurse will support clinical research activities by coordinating and delivering patient care, ensuring compliance with research protocols, and maintaining high standards of ethical and clinical practice. The role involves working with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate clinical trials and other research studies in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the day-to-day running of clinical trials and research studies.
- Screen, recruit, and consent patients in accordance with study protocols and ethical standards.
- Collect, document, and manage study data, including electronic case report forms (eCRFs).
- Perform study-related procedures such as phlebotomy, vital signs, ECGs, and sample collection.
- Liaise with principal investigators, sponsors, ethics committees, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure accurate reporting of adverse events and compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain essential study documentation including investigator site files and logs.
- Attend and contribute to study meetings, site initiation visits, and monitor visits.
- Provide patient education and support throughout the clinical trial.
- Ensure confidentiality and data protection in line with GDPR regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Nurse with active registration on the NMBI Register (Division 1).
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-registration experience; prior research or clinical trials experience is highly desirable but not essential.
- GCP (Good Clinical Practice) certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Phlebotomy skills preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office and data entry systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualification in clinical research, nursing, or related field.
- Experience in cardiology, or another specialist area relevant to the study portfolio.
- Familiarity with trial registries, ethical submissions, and HSE-related processes.

Pay: €33,359.85-€59,614.57 per year
Expected hours: 08.00 – 16.00 per week
