Kent Athlone Group was created from a PLC divestment to an experienced Management team supported by Duke Street Partners who are a leading European Private Equity Group.
In 2022 a revised 5-year strategy, growth plan and additional investment has been agreed with the Board, driven by a strong focus on Business Development.

Role duties and responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Key Account Manager at Kent Athlone Group include, but are not limited to:
Drive the sales and marketing plan within the territory with supply chain, developing sales strategies to gain long term agreements that will underpin growth ambitions of the Company for each market segment.
Develop excellent customer relationships at the appropriate levels and functions, demonstrating a thorough understanding of their changing needs, whilst encouraging customers to work closely in partnership with Kent Pharma.
Achieve all key performance indicators (KPIs) including targets for revenue, account profitability in a structured manner to encompass opportunities on territory
Through effective strategic management of your account base; define objectives for each key account. Through innovative strategy focusing on Brand product promotion to drive sales for the Company’s top profit lines encompassing opportunities across the portfolio.
Through analysis of data, define account plans to achieve KPIs on contract compliance on Branded and Non-Branded products
Communicate effectively internally to gather and share information relating to market shortages. Work rapidly and efficiently with sales management and business development to identify and meet customers need to address product shortages
To achieve all set targets as agreed with the Head of Athlone Pharmaceuticals.
Actively participate in marketing projects as required, to give market perspective to business decisions.
Grow and develop retail accounts nationally, in a commercially viable manner using strategies as agreed with the line manager.
Engage in Team activities, such as regular team calls, regular team meetings, sharing market intelligence and market changes.
Be proactively engaged in development within role, including attendance and strong participation in training courses both internal and external, as and when required.
Engaged with the Head of Athlone Pharmaceuticals and other team members, as well as Marketing and Purchasing Departments regarding the gathering and circulation of market information.
Liaises with the Customer Service Team, particularly to ensure all aspects of customer interaction are maintained in a professional and to the highest standards.
Accept any special assignments as requested to do so.
Maintain accurate and up to date customer records using the inhouse CRM system, plus supporting tools.
Manage the supply chain situation across multiple products both internally and externally with customers so that you can manage their expectations.
Participate in Ireland wide meetings, exhibitions, and conferences, to engage with customers and promote the product range.
Skills and Experience (E: Essential, D: Desirable)

Proven sales ability within the pharmaceutical industry. Ideally with previous pharmaceutical sales experience of branded or generic portfolios.
Be self-motivated and able to work on his/her own initiative.
Demonstrate the ability in operating to a high level of market awareness and the understanding of market dynamics to identify opportunities across the Irish pharma Industry.
Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal).
Good administrative background encompassing strong Excel skills. Able to deliver statistical reports, account plans and sales analysis, having strong presentations skills to create impact internally, as well as externally.
Prepared to make decisions from an informed standpoint and able to negotiate with customers for long term partnerships.
Must be socially confident and have a structured approach as well as being commercially driven and able to demonstrate an assertive nature.
Passion for driving sales in a commercially viable manner.
Have a high level of passion and energy to succeed, working collaboratively across functions.
Ability to prioritise a highly varied workload and bring innovative ideas to the table.
Motivated team player who fosters an environment to share best practice and give feedback.
Market knowledge of the generics industry and promoted products.
Managing Account Forecasts with Supply Chain.
Focus to develop and execute strong Key Account Plans.
Education
Pharmaceutical industry experience (essential)
University degree or graduate calibre either in life sciences or business (preferable)
Other Requirements
A Driving Licence, valid to drive in Ireland
A valid Passport* as some European travel may be necessary for external events, trade shows, meetings, conferences, etc.
