We are looking for a full time Sales Assistant at our Kilmacanogue location (Co. Wicklow). We’re looking for an enthusiastic, bubbly, and customer-focused Sales Assistant who has an appreciation for flowers and a desire to make every customer’s day brighter. Role Overview:
As a Sales Assistant, you will be the face of our shop, interacting with customers and ensuring their needs are met with a smile. You’ll be responsible for processing sales at the till, upselling products, and supporting our florist with day-to-day tasks. We’re looking for someone with an interest in flowers, strong communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement: Greet customers warmly, assist with product selection, and ensure a personalized shopping experience. Offer helpful advice on flowers, arrangements, and care instructions.
- Sales Processing: Handle all till transactions with accuracy and efficiency, including cash, card payments, and gift card transactions.
- Upselling: Proactively recommend additional products such as vases, cards, plants, and seasonal specials. Aim to exceed sales targets through effective upselling techniques.
- Stock Management: Assist with keeping the shop stocked and organized, including displaying flowers and ensuring products are in perfect condition for customers.
- Assist Florist: Support our florist as needed by preparing materials, setting up arrangements, and keeping workspaces tidy.
- Customer Service Excellence: Address any customer concerns or queries in a professional and friendly manner. Make sure that every customer leaves with a positive experience and is likely to return.
Ideal Candidate:
- A positive, friendly, and bubbly personality who enjoys making customers feel special.
- A genuine interest in flowers and floral arrangements (no professional experience required but a passion for plants and design is key).
- Strong upselling skills and a proactive attitude toward driving sales.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic to learn about the business.
- Willingness to help out with any tasks, big or small.
