Job Title: Sales Manager – Weddings, Conferences, Events & Corporate Sales

Position Summary:
The Heights Hotel Killarney is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager to lead and grow our Weddings, Conferences, Events and Corporate segments. This pivotal role will focus on developing strong relationships with clients, converting enquiries into bookings, delivering exceptional service standards, and driving revenue across key business segments.
As a key ambassador for the hotel, you will play a leading role in maintaining our reputation as one of Kerry’s most loved venues for milestone events and professional gatherings.
Key Responsibilities:Sales & Business Development:
- Proactively drive sales across weddings, meetings, events, and corporate sectors.
- Manage and convert all wedding and event enquiries into confirmed business.
- Build strong relationships with key clients, agencies, local businesses, and wedding suppliers.
- Conduct site inspections, sales meetings and networking events to promote the hotel.
- Attend wedding fairs, trade shows and local events representing the hotel brand.
Revenue & Conversion:
- Achieve and exceed agreed sales and conversion targets across all segments.
- Maximise revenue through upselling opportunities and strategic pricing.
- Work with the Revenue and Marketing teams to identify key sales periods and promotional opportunities.
Event Coordination & Delivery:
- Act as a key liaison between clients and the operations team to ensure smooth handover and delivery of events.
- Oversee pre-event planning including BEO preparation, site visits, tastings and final detail meetings.
- Support in the delivery of key events on the day where required, ensuring quality and service excellence.
Marketing & Brand Engagement:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative campaigns and seasonal promotions.
- Provide insight and content for social media, blogs, website, and print materials related to weddings and events.
- Maintain a strong understanding of competitor activity, pricing and market trends.
Reporting & Administration:
- Maintain an accurate pipeline of leads and bookings using the hotel CRM system.
- Produce monthly performance reports and forecasts for senior management.
- Ensure all client communications and contracts are professional, accurate and timely.
Requirements:
- Proven track record in sales within the hospitality sector, with a strong focus on weddings and events.
- A natural relationship builder with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify growth opportunities.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in CRM and event management systems (e.g. Guestline, Opera, Event Temple or similar).
- A team player with the ability to work cross-departmentally and lead by example.
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends as required for client meetings and event hosting.
