Senior Cyber Security Engineer – Hybrid (Longford)
Location: Hybrid working model (minimum 1 day per week onsite in Longford)

Working hours: 8 hours/day, Monday–Friday, core hours 10:00–12:30 & 14:30–16:00 (Irish local time) - On-call hours on a shared weekly rota basis with the Cyber Security team

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cyber Security Engineer with over 7 years of experience in the cybersecurity field. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various security frameworks and standards and will be responsible for enhancing our cybersecurity posture across multiple domains. Role Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of cyber security-related tasks, including:
- Conducting cyber security maturity assessments, vendor and third-party risk assessments, and recommending risk remediation strategies.
- Conducting Cloud Vendor Assessments.
- Assessing security posture in line with standards like ISO 27001, NIST, NIS2, regulatory requirements, emerging threats, and organizational risk.
- Leading the implementation of staff security awareness programs.
- Developing information security plans and policies.
- Identifying security risks and designing processes or technical solutions to mitigate threats.
- Designing and implementing remediation initiatives to mitigate risks.
- Monitoring internet access and email, and leading the delivery of ICT security solutions.
- Leading computer forensics, incident investigations, threat and vulnerability management, and enterprise mobility management.
- Liaising with network and Windows operations teams to formulate security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Leading security monitoring and alerting, and 24/7 SOC operations.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in cyber security.
- Certifications in cyber security operations, cloud security, and cyber security analysis.
- Fluency in the English language (non-native speakers must have a C2 level certificate).
Key Experience and Competencies:
- Expertise in firewalls (Juniper SRX5400/Cisco ASA-Firepower), Windows OS, Windows Server, IDS/IPS, and other network security technologies.
- Proficiency in systems hardening (Windows, IIS, Linux, Oracle, SQL, Hyper-V, VMware), Microsoft Exchange, Office, and Windows 10/11, as well as vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
- Experience with various security tools and platforms, such as Varonis Datadvantage, Sophos Anti-Virus, Bullwall Ransomcare, McAfee/Trellix, Trend Scanmail, Cisco IronPort, and Ivanti MobileIron MDM.
- Knowledge of Acronis Access, PCI-DSS, Citrix Xen Desktop and Netscaler, Sharefile with Office Online, and Cisco Umbrella.
- Expertise in security monitoring and alerting tools, such as VIAVI GigaFlow, Cisco Firepower, Cisco Secure Endpoint, and McAfee/Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator.
- Experience with Juniper JSA, Juniper Space & Secure Director, eLearning, and cyber security compliance platforms.
- Strong understanding of system network and security architecture, cloud security, systems forensic examinations, disaster recovery planning, software architecture security features, incident response, and investigations.
