Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Senior Scrum Master to join our team in Fidelity Ireland under the Fidelity Institutional Technology group. You will support two cross-functional teams, engaging with all team members, Product Owners / Squad Leads and Product Area Leads to reinforce and embed an agile approach and principles into the day-to-day work. By demonstrating and promoting Fidelity and agile leadership behaviours, you will evolve and sustain an innovative agile and learning culture.
This role will form part of an exciting new group tasked with building innovative capabilities to support the rollout of new Digital Asset financial instruments in the Institutional market.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of proven experience in a dedicated Scrum Master role within a software delivery organisation
- Strong proficiency and experience with agile practices, processes and artifacts, and in applying scrum methodologies
- Experience in interpreting agile metrics to help identify and drive improvement opportunities, with a passion for mentoring and supporting teams
- Strong experience in using tools such as JIRA and JIRA Align
- Experience in working in a scaled agile environment, collaborating with other Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and teams to ensure work is planned and aligned, and dependencies are identified and managed
- Experience in tracking and reporting on team progress in a scaled agile environment
- Advanced Scrum certifications (A-CSM/PSM-II) preferred
- Financial services experience preferred but not essential
The Purpose of Your Role
- You will be the Scrum Master across two cross-functional teams in Galway, Ireland
- You will advise and lead the teams on agile values, practices and processes to ensure that teams are fully functional, productive, and focused on the sprint goals
- You will run all the scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily scrum, sprint review and sprint retrospective
- You will work with the teams and product area to resolve challenges and remove impediments
- You will prepare for, guide and facilitate the teams in their release activities
- You will participate in scaled agile events such as the Scrum of Scrum’s and may be required to facilitate, lead or co-ordinate the logistics for these events
- You will build positive relationships within and across teams, and across the product and technology areas

The Value You Deliver
- Lead and coordinate logistics for agile ceremonies and events
- Work with Squad Leaders and teams to ensure all work is tracked in the backlogs, scrum team capacity is applied effectively, and work is accurately balanced across team members
- Work with technology & business partners to understand project objectives, priorities, timelines, use cases and requirements
- Generate and maintain team performance metrics to provide an effective feedback loop for the teams and visibility to partners
- Identify team improvement opportunities and enable the teams to implement continuous improvements
- You are an effective facilitator and can resolve challenging team issues
- Coordinate Scrum boards for the teams
- Encourage agile behaviours, reinforce agile values and principles and support the teams to follow the agile processes and practices
- Inspire and drive a collaborative, open and supportive team culture through team building events and engagement practices
- Partner closely with other Scrum Masters across the Business Unit and region to share ideas, agile practices, and findings
