This role is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced team to develop state-of-the-art CI/CD pipelines for a portfolio of SaaS and On-premises software products.
As a Senior Software Automation Engineer, you will take ownership of requirements and work in a team to evaluate, design and implement solutions. You will assist the team with requirements and technology choices.
This role is offered as an independent contractor or as a fixed-term employee, for an initial period of 6 to 12 months, project dependant. Classification will be determined based on the degree of control, autonomy, and nature of deliverables, in accordance with Irish employment law.
Location: Dublin 2 – Hybrid role (Minimum 2 days office based)
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership for design and delivery of end-to-end technical solutions across a range of technologies, independently or part of a team.
- Proactively identify problems and drive the definition and implementation of effective solutions.
- Translate business and technical requirements into clear, scalable solutions and accurate work estimates.
- Balance strategic thinking with pragmatic, tactical decision-making to ensure high-quality design outcomes.
Key requirements:
- Minimum 7 years in a Software Engineering role with significant experience designing and building CI/CD and automated test systems.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and development lifecycles for SaaS and/or On-premises products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication (English).
- Computer science, engineering or other related degree.
Competent in most of the following software development and automation tools:
- Git, Jenkins
- Terraform, Ansible
- Kubernetes, Docker
- AWS, VMWare
- Python, Bash
- Robot Framework, Selenium
Useful additional requirements:
- Experience with Rust, C++, Java and/or Clojure
- Experience with Kafka, Kafka Streams, Elasticsearch, Redis, Prometheus, Kibana, SQL/RDBMS
- Telecoms signalling protocols: Diameter, SS7, GTP-C, SIP
- Telecoms messaging: SMS, SMPP, MMS
