The Web Development Officer (Specialist Post) will be part of the cross-campus Web Development team which has responsibility for the University's web presence across many different sites and projects.
These include:
- Responsible for the ongoing development and updating of the SETU website to ensure content accuracy, technical functionality, and visual consistency.
- Maintain and update all SETU programme information across relevant platforms to reflect current academic offerings.
- Liaising with user groups within the University, including academic faculties and professional support functions, to improve their web presence; provide staff training in skills required for website updating; and to promote best practice in web publishing across all SETU sites.
- Auditing users' updates to the website to ensure a high standard of content structure across websites.
- Utilise tools such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console to monitor website performance, identify issues, and implement improvements that enhance the user experience.
- Development and management of related micro sites using WordPress CMS.
- Serve as the first point of contact for website-related queries and technical issues, offering timely resolution or escalation as appropriate.
- Prepare and submit requisitions to ensure timely procurement of goods and services in line with organisational needs.
- Undertake such other related duties as may be assigned.
