Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive organic social media strategy for Irish Life, that aligns with overall business objectives, amplifies and supports our paid advertising activities and delivers consistency across key B2C and B2B channels to drive customer engagement and support brand KPIs.
- Establish and lead a cross-functional content working group with product and marketing teams to coordinate the rollout of a monthly social media content calendar, ensuring high-quality, on-brand campaign assets are developed and delivered on schedule.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agency partners to create a unified and impactful social media presence that effectively resonates with both consumer and business audiences.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on social media performance metrics, using insights to inform ongoing strategy, while staying current with emerging trends, tools, and platform developments.
- Lead social media activity at live events, including high-profile sponsorship events such as the Irish Life Dublin Marathon and Race Series, corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and workplace events.
- Oversee the use and performance of third-party social media management tools, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in content scheduling, publishing, and engagement tracking.
- Act as a social media subject matter expert across Irish Life, providing guidance and training to internal teams and stakeholders on best practices, platform updates, and content optimisation.
- Support the Senior Brand & Advertising Manager and the broader brand team on key initiatives and cross-functional projects as required.
Team Background
- This role is part of our Growth Solutions team and reports to our Senior Brand & Advertising Manager.
- The Growth Solutions team has responsibility for customer experience, brand marketing, sustainability, innovation and AI, in addition to key customer transformation projects.
- The Growth Solutions Brand Marketing team of 9 people is responsible for brand management, advertising, sponsorship and corporate reputation, in collaboration with our partner agencies.

What you will need to be successful in the role
We’re looking for a passionate and strategic social media professional who can bring experience, creativity, and commercial insight to the team.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A third-level qualification in Business, Marketing, Digital Marketing, or a related field, along with 3+ years of hands-on experience in a social media role, either in-house or within an agency environment, ideally across both B2C and B2B sectors.
- A passion for marketing and social media, with a natural curiosity for keeping up with excellence in the world of social media strategy and tactics including content trends, platform updates and emerging tools, so you can help keep Irish Life at the forefront of digital engagement.
- Proven experience managing social media for a large brand, with strong working knowledge and expertise of social media overall, social management tools (e.g. Sprout, Hootsuite), social listening platforms, and broader digital marketing techniques.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to extract insights from data using tools like Google Analytics. A working knowledge of SEO and the interplay between search and social strategies to deliver measurable business results is highly valued.
- A results-driven mindset, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines while staying focused on KPIs and delivering under pressure.
- Industry experience in financial services or insurance is a strong advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate cross-functionally.
