We are looking for a Stock Controller to join our team in Kilkenny.
Responsibilities:
1. Purchasing & Supplier Management
Source and order parts required for planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, securing competitive pricing and reliable delivery schedules.
Raise and manage purchase orders, tracking delivery progress to meet workshop demands.
2. Stock & Inventory Management
Set up and oversee an efficient inventory system within our new depot.
Perform regular inventory audits and spot checks to maintain stock accuracy.
Organize storage areas for easy access and accurate part identification and labelling.
3. Cost Monitoring & Allocation
Assign parts to individual job cards or vehicle files for detailed cost recording.
Keep track of parts pricing, report on fluctuations, and highlight any cost anomalies.
Assist in budgeting and provide input on opportunities for savings or efficiency improvements.
4. Workshop Coordination
Work closely with workshop technicians to ensure timely availability of components.
Pre-assemble parts kits for scheduled servicing and repairs.
Respond quickly to urgent parts requests to minimize delays in workshop operations.
5. Systems & Administration
Use workshop management software to log, monitor, and report on parts usage and purchases.
Maintain a digital inventory of all stocked items, including part numbers, specifications, supplier details, and warranty terms.
Produce regular reports on inventory status, usage trends, and supplier performance metrics.
Skills & Experience Required:
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in an automotive or transport environment.
Competent in the use of stock control and ordering systems.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced workshop setting.
Effective communicator with a team-focused approach.
