The successful candidate will be part of a relief panel of Support Workers responsible for ensuring the delivery of service operations, systems and processes operating to quality standards with a view to creating positive outcomes for those experiencing homelessness.

About the Role:
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care by working directly with residents and children.
- Be accountable for day-to-day operations of the service while ensuring the values and ethos of the organisation are upheld.
- Demonstrate leadership by promoting positive engagement among team members and supporting shared responsibilities in the work environment.
- Actively participate in team meetings and one-to-one supervision with the Manager, contributing to the continuous development of team performance.
Operations
- Ensure the consistent delivery of individualised support in line with service user care plans and agreed standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records including risk assessments and health and safety checks.
- Engage with Social Workers, families, and the wider community to ensure integrated service provision.
- Work flexible hours, including day and night shifts, to meet the operational needs of the service.
- Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams and contribute to the effective coordination of services for individuals supported.
- Take personal responsibility for knowledge of policies, procedures, and ongoing professional development.
People Management
- Collaborate as part of a team to ensure consistency, communication, and collective accountability in supporting individuals.
- Foster positive working relationships with colleagues, modelling professionalism and empathy in all interactions.
- Support new or less experienced team members, contributing to a supportive learning environment.
- Attend and actively participate in supervision and team discussions, supporting shared decision-making and feedback culture.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain effective relationships with families, social workers, and external stakeholders to enhance the support network of service users.
- Act as a representative of the organisation in professional settings, upholding its values and reputation.
- Engage with local community resources to promote social inclusion and participation of individuals supported.
Quality
- Ensure all work practices meet the standards of quality, health, safety, and safeguarding.
- Stay informed of national best practices and policy changes relevant to social care and adapt work accordingly.
- Contribute to service improvements through feedback, reflection, and participation in audits and evaluations.
Qualifications
- A recognised qualification in Social Care or Healthcare (minimum Level 5 on the NFQ or currently studying towards it).
Proven Knowledge
- Understanding of person-centred care and rights-based approaches.
- Familiarity with safeguarding, risk assessment, and health and safety procedures in residential or social care settings.
- Awareness of the importance of community engagement and family involvement in care provision.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children, vulnerable individuals, or in a care environment (minimum 6 months).
- Teamwork and communication within a care setting.
- Flexibility and resilience in managing diverse needs and behaviours.
- Record-keeping, reporting, and implementing care/support plans.
- Engagement in personal and professional development activities.
