Description
The Technical Manager plays an integral role in ensuring that the technical classification, waste acceptance and incoming process are fit for purpose.This role requires occasional travel across sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to Operational and Sales teams regarding waste classifications, treatment methodologies, and process optimization.
- Supporting Customer Solutions team on daily tasks including classifications, packing methodologies, route optimisation etc whilst ensuring the process lines meet daily targets and process efficiency is maximised.
- Partner with the Business Unit manager in developing, monitoring and maintaining all policies and procedures related to customer support and customer development activities.
- Responsibility for the WTS / Tegos classifications, EWC code assignments and the SOPS’s etc. related to these procedures.
- To work with EHS regarding building a database that ensures accurate, efficient and convenient year end reporting for R/D codes for streams.
- Assist in TFS applications.
- Assist Site Operations where required, to prepare outbound movement paperwork. etc
- Responsibility in taking a leading role in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) design and implementation.
- Facilitate the capability of the team in Waste classification and compliant waste packing and labelling.
- Partnering with the Business Unit Manager, be proactive in supporting the delivery of team objectives, managing priorities and ensuring that individual, team, and company objectives are achieved by creating a high performing and adaptable team.
- Ensure the team has been trained appropriately on all policies, processes and procedures in technical classification, and waste acceptance and incoming processes ensuring they are fit for purpose.
- Responsible for ensuring all operations are conducted in a safe and compliant manner, through implementing and improving safety protocols and objectives of the Business ensuring all relevant health and safety regulations compliance ongoing process operations to the requirements of and partnering with the business unit manager.
- Ensure continuity of process to meet forecast intake maximise recovered fractions.
- Provide senior management with ongoing clear and concise daily output through financials and agreed KPI targets.
- Assist to accurately manage and ensure that the targeted budget for the business unit is attainable and achieved whilst reporting and implementing continuous process improvements. Support the development of Business Operations Procedures and ensure the use of these on an ongoing basis ensuring compliance in maintained in all areas.
- In conjunction with the Enva management team, manage the relationship with the Enva
- Client base and all treatment/recovery/disposal facilities and sub-contractors of the Enva business with a view to delivering smooth operations and logistical movements.
- On an ongoing basis work with other divisions and Enva facilities to develop an integrated business offering delivering improvements in business operations, efficiency, resourcing, and cost management.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Demonstrate effective communication, networking and business relationship building with all stakeholders which include Customers, suppliers, your team and senior management
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
- Sound understanding of customers needs and expectations and using this to generate new business, improve policies, process and overall service
- Strong product knowledge, data analytics and project management skills.
