MKCW is seeking a skilled traditional fiddle player to perform at one or more of our upcoming book events. The role involves creating a warm, engaging, and memorable atmosphere for attendees by providing live traditional music that enhances the overall event experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform traditional Irish fiddle music, alongside folk and other relevant styles, to complement the tone of MKCW book events.
- Contribute to an inviting and enjoyable environment for audiences of varied backgrounds.
- Work closely with the event team to ensure smooth coordination of performance times and event flow.
- Represent MKCW professionally, providing high-quality musical performance throughout events.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a professional fiddle player, with a strong background in traditional Irish music.
- Confidence in performing live in public settings (literary, cultural, or community events preferred).
- Ability to perform a varied repertoire suited to the occasion.
- Professional PA system.
- Professionalism, reliability, and punctuality.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with folk and cross-genre repertoire.
- Previous experience performing at book launches, festivals, or cultural gatherings.
- Lighting system
- Other instrumental ability.
Engagement: Freelance / Per Event Basis

Pay: €75.00 per hour
