**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a talented and experienced bridal tailor/seamstress/dressmaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in altering bridal gowns and a keen eye for detail. This role requires precision, creativity, and a passion for bridal fashion.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform alterations on bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and other formal wear.
- Conduct fittings with brides and clients to ensure perfect fit and satisfaction.
- Handle delicate fabrics and intricate designs with care and expertise.
- Customise dresses according to the bride's vision and collaborate with clients to make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment.

While many brides purchase a dress from our designers, some have a unique vision of the dress they want and choose to work with a dressmaker to bring that vision to life.
Skills:
As a wedding dressmaker, your job will include:
Taking the clients measurements
De-constructing and reconstructing gowns
Using sewing machines and overlockers to a high standard
Adding embellishments such as beads or embroidery by hand.
Altering and redesigning the dresses for the wedding party, including the bridesmaids, the mother of the bride and flower girls
Scheduling multiple fittings for the bride to ensure the proper fit of the dress.
Resizing dresses to account for weightless/weightgain/pregnancy etc.
Creating and altering corsets where needed
Creating custom sleeves/sashes/bows etc according to the customers vision
Altering, repairing and customising dresses purchased off the rack at sample sales.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience in bridal wear alterations.
- Exceptional sewing and tailoring skills.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- A portfolio showcasing previous bridal wear alterations is essential.
